Workshop Terms and Conditions

Workshop Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: July 2026

1. Diagnostic & Quoting Fee

A Diagnostic & Quoting Fee applies before any repair work is carried out.

• Small Engines & Outdoor Power Equipment: $69.00
• Motorcycles: Diagnostic fees are assessed on a case-by-case basis depending on the condition, complexity and extent of diagnosis required.

This fee covers the technician's time to inspect, diagnose faults, prepare a quotation and provide professional advice. It does not include repair labour, replacement parts or consumable materials.

2. Repair Approval

Where pre-approval has not been provided, a quotation will be supplied before repairs commence. Quotations remain valid for 5 business days. If approval is not received within this period, the job may be closed. Re-opening a closed job may incur an administration fee.

3. Parts & Labour

Replacement parts, consumables and labour are charged in addition to the Diagnostic & Quoting Fee. No additional repairs will be carried out without customer approval unless previously authorised.

4. Storage Charges

Completed repairs must be collected within 7 business days of notification.

Storage fees of $10.00 per day may apply after this period.

Equipment not collected within 90 days may be considered abandoned and dealt with in accordance with applicable Queensland legislation after reasonable attempts have been made to contact the owner. Any outstanding repair, storage or administrative charges remain payable.

5. Warranty on Repairs

Freshwater Small Engines & Motorcycles stands behind the quality of its workmanship.

Small Engines & Outdoor Power Equipment:
Repairs generally carry a workmanship warranty of 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the repair performed. Customers are encouraged to use their equipment as soon as practicable after collection so any workmanship issues can be identified within the warranty period.

Motorcycles:
Motorcycle repair and service workmanship warranties vary depending on the work carried out and may range from 4 weeks to 3 months.

Workmanship warranties apply only to the repair performed and do not cover unrelated failures or worn components.

Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, abuse, incorrect operation, incorrect or contaminated fuel, lack of maintenance, failure to follow maintenance or storage advice provided by Freshwater Small Engines & Motorcycles, accidental damage, unauthorised repairs or modifications, or pre-existing faults unrelated to the authorised repair.

6. Customer Responsibilities

Customers must provide accurate contact details and advise of any known faults or previous repairs. Customers are responsible for removing personal belongings and accessories not required for the repair.

7. Limitation of Liability

Freshwater Small Engines & Motorcycles will exercise the utmost care, fairness, honesty and professionalism while your equipment is in our possession. However, we are not responsible for pre-existing faults or damage, hidden or latent defects, failures unrelated to the authorised repair, misuse after collection or consequential loss. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

8. Privacy

Personal information collected during the repair process is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
